The classic coffee cocktail is traditionally served in a glass mug. Preheat the mug by filling with hot water for a few minutes before dumping out the water.
• 1 1⁄2 oz Irish whiskey
• 1 oz Brown sugar syrup
• Freshly brewed coffee
• Lightly whipped heavy cream
1) Pour hot water into an Irish coffee glass to warm it up briefly, then discard the water.
2) Add brown sugar syrup and Irish whiskey, then fill ¾ full with fresh coffee.
3) Float the cream on top by pouring it over the back of a bar spoon.
