Invented at the Manhattan Club in New York around 1880, this cocktail is sometimes made with rye instead of bourbon for a spicier flavor.
Ingredients:
• 2 oz bourbon
• 1 oz Italian sweet vermouth
• 2 dashes Angostura bitters
• Garnish: Maraschino cherry
Directions:
1) Add bourbon, sweet vermouth, and bitters to a shaker with ice and stir.
2) Strain into a chilled martini glass.
3) Garnish with a Maraschino cherry.
